We'll use this diagram to assign portal spots for phase 2. I think we are losing valuable seconds of brain dps because we are looking for the correct portal to enter or have entered the wrong one which causes someone to hunt for another if their assigned one has been used by someone else.

The strategy points to remember in the portals:

(1) The first portals open up 60 seconds after Phase 2 starts. They reopen up every 90 seconds thereafter. So, if we do our job correctly in the portals, Phase 2 will last approx 7 min - might be 9.5 min if it takes us 4 portal cycles. (I think the math is right. 3 cycles means 60 till first one, 90 sec for the other 2 to open and 60 sec in each one or 60+90+90=60+60+60 and would add an attitonal 90+60 for a 4th portal). Anyway, hopefully we can get the brain to 30% in 3 cycles but guilds have done it in 4.

(2) There are 3 different scenerios in the brain realm. The object is the same, reguardless of which scenerio is active when you enter. Kill all the npcs (tentacles) in the room so the doorway to the brain will open. You cannot miss any because you don't have time to run back and find the one(s) not killed. Remember you only have 55 seconds there - the last 5 must be used to escape. You have to move thru there like a precision team that knows exactly what to do each step of the way.

(3) Each attack on the tentacle will deal back to you 50% of the damage you deal to it, so that's why we need to send in a healer instead of an additional dps. These Tenacles have very low health, that's why every player doesn't need to be attacking the same one.

(4) To make the brain realm more difficult, Blizz has added the Laughing Skulls which channel Lunatic Gaze. This gaze deals 2k damage and gives you a 2% sanity loss per second. You must face away from the skulls to avoid the damage. The norm is to take 1 tick of Lunatic Gaze each time its cast, but you should have turned away before you are hit with a 2nd tick.

(5) You must run to the brain as fast as possible when the tentacles are dead so a hunter will turn on aspect of the pack. The brain will be channeling Induce Madness (a 60 sec cast time) which will instantly cause you to go insane if you are in the brain realm when the channel finishes casting. This means you MUST be out of the realm before the cast is over. You must leave by any portal when 55 seconds have passed. Unlike the entry portals, any number of you can leave by the same portal. The success of the raid depends upon ALL of you keeping your sanity thru each portal phase.

(6) Upon reentering the outside realm, you can immediately replenish your sanity in the Sanity Wells, since at this time the outer realm tentacles will have been temporarily stunned. You'll have a few seconds to get your sanity back to 100.

Now one point I'm not sure about is how we need to split your team once you enter the portals. Some strats say 3 teams, some say 2. I think healing oor and los become issues when we split into 3 groups. We'll work that out based on the healer comments.

Plz add any suggestions or thoughts on our strats/performance on this phase. I think our current bottleneck is phase 2 portal management, so we need to understand exactly what's going on and what we need to do to gain control of the phase.
