re: Rank other than officer descriptions

Rank Descriptions and Expectations

INITIATE:

An Initiate is a new member (or former casual member) who intends to become a member of the raid team.

-- the Initiate period will last a min of 2 weeks or 6 raids. Or longer, based upon the results of a performance review. If the Initiate period will be extended beyond 2 wks/6 raids, the Initiate will be informed as to the extension and what he needs to do to be able to move into the Raider rank.

-- an Iinitiate accrues dkp just as a Raider does – from being in a raid or from being on standby. An initiate does not have bidding rights. If an item drops that a Raider/Veteran/Officer/Tank does not need and the Initiate does, then he will be considered along with other Initiates and Bullpens for the item.

-- an initiate is expected to maintain a 90% attendance during his initiate period, and to always be fully prepared to raid with flasks and pots, and full enchants. He is expected to have reviewed raid strats before each raid

-- in order for an initiate to move from initiate rank to raider rank, his raid performance must be reviewed by his class officer, a raid officer and the GM. He will be reviewed on class knowledge, performance, raid awareness, attendance and ability to listen and follow directions.

BULLPEN:

--
Bullpen rank is for those who want to raid, are prepared to raid with the proper skill and gear level but cannot meet the 75% attendance requirement.

-- Bullpen rank accrues dkp just as a raider does – but this rank has a dkp ceiling. Anyone in the Bullpen rank has a dkp ceiling of 240dkp. As dkp is spent on items, he will accrue dkp again up to the ceiling of 240.

-- Bidding rights as a Bullpen raider are the same as the Initiate rights. It falls below the rights of Tanks, Officers, Vets and Raiders. It is on equal footing with initiate bidding rights. If an item drops that a Raider, Veteran, Officer or Tank does not need, the Bullpen will considered along with Initiates and other Bullpens for the item. As an fyi, the Bullpen member will generally receive the loot over an Initiate simply because he has been accruing dkp (even with a ceiling restriction) longer.

-- A Bullpen rank will not receive a raid invite over a Raider/Vet/Officer unless the raid composition requires it. Since a Bullpen rank, by definition, is one who cannot meet the 75% attendance requirement, his tradeoff is a non-guaranteed raid spot, restricted looting rights as well as limits on dkp accruals.

-- in order for a Bullpen to move to Raider rank, he must notify his class officer or the GM that he wishes the rank upgade to Raider to begin. He will be promoted to Raider rank (assuming his raid awareness and gear still qualify him for that rank). From that time forward, he is expected to maintain 80% attendance. He will begin accruing dkp and have full loot rights. This request is expected to be made only if the schedule change is relatively permanant. If a Bullpen has a temporary schedule change because of a holiday season, it would not be prudent to ask for a raider rank promotion for 2-3 weeks.

RAIDER/COREHOUND:

-- must have an attendance of 75% or better to maintain rank

-- must have good class knowledge and ability to perform adequately in a constantly changing raid environment

-- must be able to follow and the raid leaders instructions and multi-task when the circumstances require it

-- the only difference between the ranks are that the Raider has an authenticator and thus bank access and the Corehound does not

VETERAN:

-- must have attendance of 90% or better to maintain rank

-- must have exceptional class knowledge and raid awareness (to be determined by Class officer/raid officer/GM

-- helps other raiders improve raid performance whenever possible - serves as an example of what a raider should strive for

-- is an exemplary raider who understands the value of listening and following the raid leader's instructions

-- maintains a positive and mature attitude both inside and outside of the raid environment

NOTE: In order to qualify for a veteran raider rank, a raider must have maintained a raider rank within Core for 3 months. Officers will review current Veteran ranks as well as possible promotions to Veteran rank every quarter.

Everyone cannot be an officer. A guild cannot run with too many chiefs. But everyone CAN be a Vet if they strive to do so. Because this is a rank based on skill, honor and commitment, it will carry perks that other ranks won’t. The perks are not designed to slight raiders, but to reward Vets.

Veteran ranks will enjoy:

(1) Always having raid repairs turned on
(2) Access to Tab 2 in the guild bank
(3) 75% guild bank discount instead of the normal 50%
(4) 10% bonus dkp added to base accrual for each raid

Expectations of Raiding Ranks:

Core expects all raiders to perform to their best of their abilities and to build their raid spec wisely. We do not enforce a particular play style or build or spec but we do expect each raider to choose talents/glyphs/enchants/gems/reforges that will optimize raid effectiveness and contribution to progression. Core will provide each raider the opportunity to obtain the gear necessary for raid progression and in return Core expects the raider to wield the gear and the skill necessary for maximum performance.

Anyone at initiate rank and above will not pug any dkp event (unless prior approval has been granted by an officer). In return, Core will provide each raider with a raid spot, equal opportunity in the dkp system to obtain loot, and an organized, mature and structured raid environment in which to raid. There will be a need for swapping members in and out of the raid on any given night. But each member with raider rank and above is considered a “core” raider and will be treated as such.

CASUAL

A casual member in Core is one who, for various reasons, is not a raider. A casual may not be able to raid a consistent schedule, may prefer casual playing to raiding may be a friend or family member of another member and simply wants to enjoy their company in the same social group.

If a casual rank wishes to become a raider, he will go through the initiate step, be evaluated as a raider and can become a raider if he can maintain his attendance and performance. This is all incumbent, of course, of the needs of the team. If melee is closed and the causal is a melee, he will have to wait for a raid opening.

A casual raider does not have any raid privileges. He may on occasion be asked to step into a raid to help the team. He is not obligated to do so. He has no loot rights, does not earn or spend dkp. He is free to pug raids because Core does not promise him a raid spot. He will be expected to be respectful and mature in all situations because he wears the Core tag.
