re: On-Time Policy

OnTime Policy

Ontime (aka OT) is a method Core has traditionally used to encourage raiders to be in the zone ready to pull by 7:30.

It cuts downtime because we (1) don’t have to wait on someone to fly out at pull time and, more importantly, (2) it allows the class officers and raid leader to be able to more effectively and efficiently see who is available to raid on any given night. We form an OT raid and they can make the balanced selections from looking at the raid instead of scrolling through a guild roster of all levels and ranks or worse, taking whispers from all who want to raid.

In order to receive OT you must be in the zone that the raid is taking place between 7:00 and 7:25. Or occasionally OT will be at the Shrine – this will be posted in the GMOD (Guild Message of the Day). If you are in the proper zone, and have not received an invite – ask for it.

In order to encourage OT participation, Core gives 3 dkp for being OT – this means IN the OT raid by 7:25. You earn 3 dkp – this is almost as much as an hour in the raid (4dkp). The raid team is (almost 100% of the time) chosen for the first half of the raid from this OT group.

Not in the OT group? Highly unlikely you will raid in the 1st half.

If you know ahead of time you will be late, you need to post in the Raid Attendance forum how late you think you will be, so those forming the raid will know when to expect you.

Once the OT raid is formed, a snapshot the members in OT is recorded in the raid tracker and we will then move those who are not going to be in the first half of the raid to a different group(s). When the raid leader says, those in groups whatever (maybe 7&8) please leave the raid – this means those groups will not be in the first half. We may actually disband the OT raid and rebuild the team going in. We will say in vent what we are doing.

If you are not going in for the 1st half, this would be the time to notify Raganar (or Julise if Raganar is not available) if you wish to earn standby and be considered for the 2nd half of the raid. If you do not notify him, we do not assume you are on standby
